Our Latest Adventure - We're Moving!
After 5 years in Dayton, we've decided to move on! It wasn't entirely our idea to move NOW per se, but we always said, if the right offer came along, we would sell ... and it did. We feel so fortunate to have had this happen! We love our home but it is a lot of work. We have 6 acres on the river, out buildings and a pool. We enjoy travelling, enjoying life, and we work quite a bit. The last thing we want to do is spend so much time (and money) on all of the maintenance involved with owning a property like this. Not to mention the savings we will have on property taxes and insurance sounds very attractive.
There are plenty of things I will miss about this place. One of the out buildings was my "art studio" where I've had a ton of fun making art, crafting, making props, and more. I'll also miss my pool, however, it's so impractical. We have 3 months tops to enjoy it and between work and summer activities, so little time to actually use it - and that's hoping the weather is right for swimming on those days we have available. And pools are a lot of work. I know Jon won't miss it at all!
We found a new place in Coon Rapids, where we lived before we moved to Dayton. It's closer to Eddie's school, in Anoka County (lower taxes than Dayton), it's a little smaller and the lawn is much smaller. But it's a really cool house and we're excited to live there! And I have a nice size office/craft room in my basement. The challenge will be trying to make it all fit! I've already sold or given away a ton of stuff I wasn't using but will it be enough? We'll see! I've got some pics of the current house and new house below!
We had both good and bad memories of this house :) I will leave this here for me - and to remember the good. It has been a lovely place to live but we always knew it was not going to be our forever home.
I was driving Eddie to voice lessons at the theater and from Dayton Road to 169 it took 4 light cycles to take a simple left. The objective? To get over the river. It's one of only 2 magical ways to do this in the area. Getting over the river is a nightmare at certain times of the day - IYKYK - I will not miss it! We are ready to make new memories at our new house.
