Here I am in beautiful Sedona! There has been A LOT going on so far so I'll try and just cover my day yesterday - which was mostly travel. I was at the airport by 8am and my flight took off right on time at 10am. By the time we landed, I was in quite a bit of pain from surgery. It was to be expected so I wasn't surprised but I also questioned how I was going to manage with my luggage and walking, etc.
No shame here! I asked an airport employee how I could get some help and she immediately ordered up a wheelchair and wheeled me to baggage claim. What a relief! And she didn't stop there. She stayed with me and pulled my bags off the carousel and off we went. She asked about my transportation (a shared Shuttle) and brought me right to where I needed to be for pick up - and in the shade :). There she left me and told me to leave the wheelchair but then also showed me that my luggage was damaged. One of the wheels was hanging by a thread. So that sucked. My regret was not getting her name. I was so grateful for her help that I still plan to reach out and find out who it was to properly thank her. As for the luggage, it was almost 50 lbs and if you have a bag that's missing 1 of 4 wheels, it no longer rolls.
My shuttle came right on time and (YAY!) they hoisted my luggage into the back. It was a 2 1/2 hour, uneventful drive to Sedona. We took a gas station break and of the 11 of us on board, I was the 2nd to the last person to be dropped off. The views were spectacular!
When I arrived at the lodge, everyone was amazing. I explained my plight and 2 members of staff carried that sucker up to the 2nd floor where my room was. YIKES! I have since filed a claim with Delta and I bought a piece of luggage off of Amazon that will be delivered here because I am not shlepping my current piece ANYWHERE!
The resort is beautiful in such a cozy, inviting way. They refer to themselves as a Bed and Breakfast style Inn & Wellness Center. I have a pic of the outside and a pic of my room which is so warm and comfy! I mean warm as in cozy. Not actually warm. In fact, it's super chilly because I have my own A/C unit and I can't figure out how to turn it down. But, I sleep great when it's chilly! I am guessing there are 4 other guests besides me. Most everyone keeps to themselves so far. And others will be coming and going. It'll be interesting to meet them and hear their stories.
I did talk to my crew today via FT. My loves and support system. Eddie was super supportive ... First, he told me I looked weird. Then he pretended there was no sound so he was mouthing words to me with a straight face while I struggled to figure out why I couldn't hear him. When he started miming is when I knew he was messing with me. He was "stuck in a glass box". That is the shit I love! He always makes me laugh!! And Jon was comforting and supportive and let me cry a while. LOL one makes me laugh, the other lets me cry. It's perfect. I also talked to Denice (who, of course, as my twin feels everything I feel and knows exactly what I need) and my bestie Mandy. Love and support from home was definitely a mood booster!

My boys took me to the airport <3 <3 <3
