Thanks for checking out my blog! If you're new here, I'll try to add more to my About page soon. For now I will start with the fact that I am on a journey to healing from the lifestyle I've inflicted on myself and if my journey can help even one other person, then that would certainly make me feel good. But it also makes me feel good to write about it. Get it out of my head and onto paper so to speak. My journey doesn't start in Sedona, AZ, but we'll get to that. With that said, thanks so much for following me here and I would love your comments, love, support, anything!
Tuesday, July 30th, 2024: Sedona, AZ. The weather was, once again, perfect. The temp was 89° most of the day and the sky was clear and blue. And today, was my first day of healing! Now, I want to prepare you for the fact that this is an unorthodox road I've taken here. It doesn't mean I poo poo Western medicine or that I'm not going to do chemo, but I'm willing to try anything at least once to FEEL better. Within reason. I'm not going to eat live octopus or bugs. (I was a Survivor junkie) Bottom line, I haven't felt good in YEARS. Sadly, it took breast cancer to get me to do something about it.
If you don't agree with these methods, or you think it's cray cray (crazy), that's ok! Everyone has their opinions on things, and I do not begrudge anyone for that. It's a path I've taken and will try, just like some of the other adventures I've had in my life that maybe one day I'll share :). So, prepare to read what some may find weird and what others might find interesting, or maybe you've done some of these things too and I'd love to hear your experience!
Here we go ... this morning I had blood drawn and subsequently met with my Naturopathic Doctor here in Sedona. I spoke with him by phone before I came here and kind of told him my life story as it pertains to my health and his job was to put a plan together specifically for me. Which he did. We reviewed my plan, chatted, etc. and then we began. I started with 2 IV therapies. One Vitamin C and one Glutathione. It was hooked up to my port and away we went. Here's just a FEW ways they will help: (you can Google this info too)
Vitamin C - Immune System Support, Antioxidant Protection, Wound Healing, Skin & Heart Health
Glutathione - Our liver produces this! Only, we use it up more than we can produce it ... it's a natural antioxidant. Soaks up bad bacteria, helps break down nutrients and so much more.
*Side note - I am not a doctor, LOL, this should be obvious but thought I would mention it. The only experience is doing my own research and working with naturopathic docs.
I was given a new set of supplements which are not nutrients but help support the detox process. All my vitamins and nutrients will come from the food I eat here which is vegan. For non-vegans who are saying "Ew, gross!" It was pretty good! The chefs here really know how to mix it up! It is only Day 2, however, so stay tuned. And finally, I am drinking 10 juices a day. I have 1 citrus, 3 apple/carrot, 3 carrot, 3 green (this one is gross - it takes like I pulled some greens from the ground and threw them in a cup!)
There are also treatments I can do on my own - wet socks, coffee enemas, dry brushing and castor oil wrap. Like I said, I'm willing to try anything at least once!
Even with all that, I still found time to journal, reflect, meditate and take in the beautiful mountains. Not everyone has the means to do this - I recognize that. And for that, I am so thankful.
