"Open your ears and listen. Listen to the message Sedona has for you." - Ilchi Lee

Did you know Sedona has healing powers? I'm learning so many things about this beautiful place. Sedona has vortexes, which are unique geological and spiritual phenomenom that are said to occur very strongly here. A swirling center of energy. Some say they can feel electromagnetic forces from the earth while others can see/feel the spiritual effects. I am actually on one of these vortexes now. My retreat is built upon it. People come from all over the world to explore the 4 main vortexes here to feel their healing power. I had no idea.

You don't need to be in Sedona to feel the healing power of the earth's magnetic energies. I also learned about "grounding." This might be new to you or maybe you already knew about it but for me, it's new. It is also referred to as "earthing". There is a Netflix documentary out there if you want to know more. There is a science behind it, but in general, it is simply taking off your socks and shoes and walking on the ground. Or, laying or sitting on the ground, in order to connect with Earth's electrical energy. Grounding yourself. Removing the static from your body - we already know this concept from things like lightning, a spark on your sweater, or that game of rubbing a balloon on your head to watch your hair stand up! This is like that - connecting through the joining of positive and negative electrons. I'm not going to say I know exactly what all of that means or how it all works, but people have reported, after grounding, things like decreased inflammation and dissipation of pain from it, increased libido and decreased food cravings, mood changes or improvement from fatigue. I'm so facinated by this concept it makes me want to go out and lay in the grass! If you're intrigued I encourage you to look into it! If you think it's just hokey, that's ok too :-).

Last night I felt some peace for the first time in a long time. We were doing yoga in the front lawn and that's where I first heard about grounding - from our yoga instructor. She had us stand on the grass instead of mats for various yoga positions and when we got to savasana, I found myself staring up into the sky. It was 90° but with a nice breeze and felt perfect. The wind was swaying through the trees and as I stared up, I started to feel that breeze turn into a comforting arm around my shoulder telling me everything would be okay. I found some peace. Peace from the constant noise in my head, the anxiety that tries to pull me back to the real world, the constant fear and worry about everything and nothing. It was a good day.

Back in my room while winding down, drawing and listening to an audiobook, a raging storm blew in. It was loud and angry and nothing like the weather I had experienced only an hour or so before. I love thunderstorms and I actually felt comforted by it and safe ... because I think everything is going to be ok.

Love this so much, Doreen! It sounds like you are getting the best of Sedona.

A set of "grounding sheets" has been on my wishlist for a while. It does seem to make a difference when I can be barefoot 🤗
