It's been a while since I've posted! And to be honest, it's mainly because the days have blurred into one. It took me until Wednesday to pull out of the fog of feeling dehydration and just overall sadness from missing home. I got regular IV's of electrolites and other good stuff and I made a point to spend as much time as I could connecting with home. Wednesday night I even had my monthly "girls night out" (minus one of us) vis a vis Facebook Messenger and it was such a mood booster!
Yesterday a guest here and I, I'll call her J, went to an arts & shopping area called Tlaquepaque Village. It is fashioned after a Traditional Mexican Village and it really had that Mexico feel. What a fun way to switch things up! J is on a water fast and I, of course, have a limited, no salt, oil or sugar diet so we were jokingly commiserating on how tempting some of the restaurants and ice cream shops were! It would have been so easy to cheat, but why? We'd only be cheating ourselves. That's not why I'm here. It was a true test of how I still have these urges and how I really hope my palette continues to change.
I am in awe of all of the art here in Sedona. If you know me, you know I love art! And the art here in the southwest has it's own unique feel. The galleries, the outdoor sculpures, everything. After a few hours, J had to get back as she had a phone call to make but I still felt rejuvenated to be out and about. I walked to the Sedona Arts Market. It's a large building within walking distance with displays of artwork from all local Artists. There was so much to see I couldn't take it all in. I will definitely have to go back. They had everything - clothing, jewelry, pottery, fine art, ornaments and so much more. I may have to treat myself to something at some point. :)
Yesterday, after my therapies, I hit the movie theater. The sun was scorching so I thought, what better way to stay out of the heat and switch things up. I narrowed down my choices to Twisters and Trap. It was a tough choice! Ultimately I chose Trap because I'm a big M. Night Shyamalan fan and it was a little shorter in length than Twisters. Movie review - It was pretty mediocre. I was hoping for more intensity and, of course, his signature surprise twist. The only surprise twist was M Night's daughter was in it and she was amazing. Don't take my word for it! Especially if you're fan! I am such a movie junkie I find most movies a bit predictable these days and this was no exception. End review. :)
Less than a week and the hubs comes to visit. I am busting at the seems excited!!

More of the same :) Looks good but tastes like nothing. It's amazing how much difference a lack of salt and spices make. The top right corner is a little dessert (we get something sweet every 3-4 days or so) and it's stewed plums with a little maple syrup and oats on top. AMAZING! Made my night.

The rest of the pics are Tlaquepaque Village

Fun! You look fabulous!! ❤️
Gosh, what a beautiful place. I'm glad you're feeling better and getting a visit to look forward to!
It looks lovely - minus the food :-) - Amy
